is there a good, honest, auto insurance in the US?
- Last I checked the review sites, you get overwhelmed by some 3000 bad reviews when the actual big picture of some 30 million satisfied customers is never taken into consideration
- State Farm is honest and has a very good record of fair claims practices. You have to read ALL the reviews - not just the rantings of a very, very small percentage of lunatics that will not be happy no matter what the outcome of a claim
- If you are eligible for USAA than I'd get their insurance if I were you. I had only one claim with them for the last 3 years and they helped me with no problems. Their rates are slowly climbing, but that's everywhere though. See if you are eligible at USAA they have always been good to me
- "Honesty" is outside the equation when in business as there are laws to be followed and lawyers to push them. Btw, what do you need your insurer to do? I am asking as I have been a professional driver for over thirty years and never even dealt with my insurer, except for when adding new cars to my policies and stuff. I got hit a few times and have always claimed myself as I am too cheap to pay for my insurer's "services" but what else is out there?
- I follow all the laws for my state, have clean trucks, uniformed drivers, and more insurance than required, but I a rotten no good *&^ @! because when you park in the wrong place, or get arrested, I tow your car. Likewise, the insurance companies are no good because they would not give me a refund after I went a whole year without an accident and canceled, or because they would not pay for the damage on my car when I ran into the back of someone and said it was my fault when he stopped in front of me. All of the web sites merely give the customer a chance to complain, and very few look them up because they are so pleased with them that they want to say nice things about them. Forget the reviews, and pick a company that meets your needs. With the possible exception of Esurance, they are all pretty good
